Waxing FAQs
What is a Brazilian?
The Brazilian wax basically takes it ALL away sometimes leaving just a tiny strip of hair in the front which is also known as a “landing strip”, or “playboy”. If you are scheduled for Brazilian or another intimate Waxing, you will need to disrobe (yes ladies, that means even the Thong goes!) from the waist down. There’s just no way around it. So please, relax and leave your modesty at home.
How long should hair be?
Hair must be between 1/4 and 1/2 inch to be effectively removed.
How long should I wait to get waxed after I’ve shaved?
3 to 4 weeks is recommended or until all the hair is at least 1/4 of an inch or longer. This will ensure you achieve the best result possible.
Is it OK to shave between wax appointments?
Shaving just one time in between will counteract all that is gained from waxing and can further irritate follicles which can cause ingrown hair. So, no, we don’t advise shaving in between.
How long will it last?
You should have 2 to 3 weeks of fairly smooth skin. We recommend booking appointments every 4 to 6 weeks.
I’m on my period. Can I get waxed?
Yes, however it does tend to be more sensitive during this time, please wear a tampon.
What can I expect afterwards?
Freshly waxed skin might be tender for a couple of days. Skin may break out in tiny bumps, especially when waxed for the first time. This reaction is normal and clears up quickly. We recommend using our Signature Brand of post waxing products daily to maintain healthy skin.
What can I do about Bikini Bumps/ingrown hair?
Using our Bewitching Body & Bikini Buff daily, aids in the prevention of ingrown hairs. Our Signature Sugar Scrub is infused with natural grapefruit extract, Mother Nature’s own Antibacterial Remedy. Sugar is an AHA that exfoliates dead skin cells and keeps hair follicle open allowing the grapefruit extract to effectively penetrate and lessen bacteria.Follow with our Practical Magic Mist to sooth & hydrate skin and our Magic Potion Gel, a skin purifying treatment that contains Glycolic and Salicylic Acids that unclog Follicles and Pores. Please AVOID using Loofahs, they hold onto bacteria and can lead to infections!
Is waxing sanitary?
Yes! We Wear Gloves and we never double dip our wax sticks. And Yes we go through a lot of Sticks! We are Unable to wax you if you are taking the RX Medication Acutane!
Are there any topical creams or medications that I should avoid prior to getting waxed?

If you are using ANY Face Creams Please Inform Your Waxing Specialist and she will advise you! Certain topical can cause severe skin reactions when waxed!
Can I tan before or after I get waxed?
You should wait 3 days to get waxed after you have tanned. You should never get waxed if you are sunburned or even if skin is pink. The very top layer of skin could pull off or “lift” which is painful and can result in scabbing.. You should wait for 2 days after you have waxed to tan. Waxed skin is more photosensitive and is more susceptible to burning.
